The fire of this world, and its demands, cannot consume those who carry God’s fire inside of them.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three Hebrew men who were taken into captivity under the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar (Dan. 3). When they refused to bow before the king’s image, though thrown in the fiery furnace, they were preserved from harm.
I love this story, because it shows that even under tyranny, the spirit of this world and man-made ideologies cannot overpower or defeat those who choose to only bow before the Living God.
Remember that when we stand for Christ, He stands with us!
When we stand with Christ others who don’t believe in Him, will see His power at work in our life. King Nebuchadnezzar saw four men walking in the flames, “the fourth...like a son of God.”
When we stand with Christ even the smell of “fire” will not be a part of us. Whatever and whoever we “smell” like is expressed thru our thoughts, words and actions. The fire around us cannot define the power of God carried by believers. It can only consume those who choose to bow before the gods of this world.
